eTwinning: a great community

Etwinning is the largest community of active teachers in Europe in collaborative projects between schools, realized in 2005 by the European Commission.

eTwinning is possible thanks to an online platform which involves teachers from over 40 countries across Europe, which can make children discover the potential of the Internet. All in a multicultural context and with numerous

training opportunities and level international recognition. It can discover and experiment with new forms of teaching and learning with international collaboration and can raise the quality of teaching between teachers. The platform has online tools designed to facilitate collaboration and engagement between class project partners.

Participating in eTwinning also means documenting, enhancing and making visible the work done in class and the results obtained with the educational projects activated, participating in a system of national certifications and awards, and for teachers and schools. Lots of people can join in on the project and there is no limit to how many people can join: teachers and

other staff, working in educational establishments of all kinds,

order and grade, public or equal.

The Comprehensive Institute Via Cassia Km 18,700, also this school year, is taking part in the eTwinning project “Lets meet Europe”. The aim of this project is to open up new cultures to the students but it also helps with the development of their knowledge and communicative abilities on foreign languages, especially English. The classes 2A and 2C are participating this year in the project with Ms. Serena Parente and the collaboration of all the teachers in the C.d.C. The Etwinning project was developed in collaboration with teachers and school pupils Norway and Slovakia. The project aims to encourage the exchange of ideas and collaboration on activities in the English language with the aim of learning about different cultures and traditions.

Happy diversity: Project, carried out in English by the class

2B, coordinated by Ms. Milena Marcoccia, with the

the support and collaboration of all the teachers of the C.d.C., is

developed in collaboration with teachers and students of a

school from Normandy.

Recently the class 2A, for the Etwinning project, did a meeting with the students from Slovakia and Turkey. We talked and answered and asked questions between us with the students. We prepared descriptions about ourselves in English. The meeting lasted about an hour. We had to use our electronic devices such as our tablets, ear buds or headphones, and they divided us in gruppes to better organize the meeting.

It was very fun!
